F&P participated in the Kanda Festival 2019.
Employees of F&P participated in the Kanda Festival, held from May 9 to May 15, 2019.
Koda Festival is a biennial festival that has been held since the Edo period, which is known as the “Three Edo Festivals” together with the Sanno Festival and the Fukagawa Festival. Until the latter half of the 17th century, the festival was held every year but now it is held every other year in turn with Sanno Festival (Akasaka-Hieda Shrine).
This year’s festival started on May 9 with the “Horenmikoshi Senza Festival” and was held for a week until May 15, the “Reitai Festival.” The biggest attraction was the “Mikoshi Miyairi” held on May 12.
“Mikoshi Miyairi” carries the mikoshi that has successed the Spirit, and the 108 town association divides into a federation and carries the mikoshi and walks in Kanda, Nihonbashi, Otemachi, Marunouchi, Akihabara, and other places for nine hours. The image of over 200 mikoshi (large and small), ushikos dressed in same hanten, and the dignified voice of the children, are stunning.
The Kanda Meiji Shrine was overflowing with thousands of tourists and visitors, and was even more crowded than in the past year.
Since we had our office in Kanda Kamakurabashi from 2005 to 2010, F&P have participated in the main event “Mikoshi-no-Miya” as a member of the Naka-Kanda Jusangamachi Coalition from 2007. This year, employees of our group company, FLP Myanmar, also participated in the event, which was a day in which they experienced the warm spirit and vitality of neighborhood associations, as well as the true essence of traditional Tokyo.
F&P wish for the further development of the company and pray for the happiness of the local people.
