The groundbreaking ceremony for “L.L. Town TharkayataⅠ” was held.
On July 1, 2018, the groundbreaking ceremony for logistics facility of “L.L. Town Phase I Construction Work”, was held by FLP Tharkayta Co. Ltd., a real estate development company which is 100% invested by F&P in the Federal Republic of Myanmar.
The facility will be constructed in the Tharkayta district adjacent to the Puzundaung River at the center area of Yangon, Myanmar‘s largest economic city. The area as a logistics hub has good access from Yangon Port and Yangon International Airport. In addition, the area is located near the Thilawa Industrial Park (Special Economic Zones) developed jointly by the public and private sectors of Japan and Myanmar and on trunk roads ranging from the old industrial park in the region, the Dagon Seikkan Industrial Park, to the central Yangon, with a high potential as a transit point for goods from production, import and export bases to consumption bases.
In Myanmar, various laws related to economic policy have been developed, and steady progress has been made in the development of domestic companies and various types of investment by foreign companies. On the other hand, the development of various infrastructures that support these economic policies continues to be a major challenge. However, ODA from Japan and other countries around the world is also showing concrete developments, and it is expected that the development of these infrastructures will proceed gradually in the future by incorporating examples and development methods from developed countries.
With the changing environment, we established a real estate development company in Myanmar with the primary objective of developing logistics facilities as described above. With a view to economic development and the development of logistics infrastructure in Myanmar, we are aiming to provide a transit service for the supply of daily necessities to Yangon, a major consumer region with a population of approximately 5 million. F&P aims to contribute to the Myanmar community by presenting facilities of Japanese quality to Myanmar as living infrastructures and making them work.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by approximately 15 Myanmar partners and approximately 25 Japanese guests, representing a total of 40 guests. The ceremony was held on July 1, the “dragon facing north” day, which is considered a very lucky day in Myanmar’s tradition. We will continue construction work steadily toward the completion and operation of the Phase Ⅰ, scheduled for June 2019.
