Winning the Corporate Disaster Prevention Award at the “BCAO Award 2022” of Business Continuity Advancement Organization
The largest organization in Japan, the “Business Continuity Advancement Organization” (BCAO), which promotes the dissemination of business continuity plans and business continuity management, annually awards individuals and organizations that have contributed to the dissemination and implementation of Japanese business continuity through the BCAO Award.
At the “17th BCAO Award 2022”, the efforts of our Sendai Nagamachi Future Co-creation Center were commended as the Corporate Disaster Prevention Award in the Disaster Prevention Division.
Fukuda and Partners, a Tokyo-based logistics facility construction and management company, has planned and constructed the “Sendai Nagamachi Future Co-Creation Center,” a tenant office building in Sendai City that can contribute to local disaster prevention, based on its experience in the Great East Japan Earthquake, through joint research with a university. The company has concluded an agreement with industry, academia, and government, including the city of Sendai, regarding the use of the building.
During normal times, it functions as a facility where the company, tenants, and the community can practice “co-creation” of disaster prevention by disseminating disaster prevention-related information. During emergencies, it functions as a community-based “co-existence” disaster prevention facility by serving as a secondary base for the company, providing free stockpiles, and receiving people who cannot return home equipped with triple power systems.
Such projects that contribute to improving the multifaceted disaster-prevention functions of the community are highly recognized as corporate disaster-prevention activities.
